The Science Behind Estrocontrol™: What’s Inside and Why It Works

By Tobie, Leader Product Developer at Beyond Alpha

Introduction

Most men don’t realize this: we have estrogen too. In the right balance, it’s essential for healthy bones, brain function, and libido. But when estrogen levels climb higher than they should, it can affect how you feel and look, leading to increased fat accumulation, low motivation, changes in mood, and reduced muscle definition.

Your liver plays a key role in keeping estrogen in check. It helps metabolize estrogen, breaking it down so the body can process it. But the liver also has a lot on its plate, breaking down toxins, producing bile, processing nutrients, and keeping your blood chemistry balanced. When it’s under stress, estrogen metabolism can slow down.

This is why the body benefits from targeted nutritional support like Estrocontrol™ formulated to support liver health, healthy estrogen metabolism, nutrient utilization, and overall vitality, using only clinically researched ingredients at relevant dosages.

Do Men Have Estrogen?

Yes! And you actually need it. Estrogen supports bone density, cardiovascular health, and certain aspects of mental performance. But like most things in the body, balance matters.

When estrogen is out of the healthy range, men may notice increased body fat, less muscle tone, lower energy, or changes in mood and motivation (Rhyu & Yu, 2021). Maintaining healthy estrogen metabolism, not eliminating estrogen entirely,  is the key to feeling and performing at your best.

How Estrocontrol™ Works

Estrocontrol™ works by supporting the liver — the body’s main hormone-processing center — with targeted nutrients that keep it functioning at its best. Choline plays an essential role in transporting fats out of the liver, helping to prevent buildup and maintain efficiency. Antioxidants like Vitamin C, selenium, and N-acetylcysteine help maintain a healthy oxidative balance, which is important for overall liver function. Vitamin B6 supports hormonal regulation and nutrient metabolism, while globe artichoke promotes bile flow to aid digestion and the elimination of waste products. Together, these systems help maintain healthy estrogen metabolism, steady energy production, and overall vitality.

Inside Estrocontrol™: The Core Ingredients and Their Role

When I started working on Estrocontrol™, I wanted a formula that wasn’t an “estrogen blocker.” It had to be built with scientific research ingredients, use meaningful dosages, and address the systems that keep hormones balanced, starting with the liver.

But then, what is it inside Estrocontrol?: Just Clinically Studied Ingredients

Choline Bitartrate
Choline is vital for transporting fats away from the liver and maintaining its health. Research from the National Institutes of Health shows that most adults consume less than the adequate intake of choline (NIH, 2022; EFSA, 2011; Health Canada, 2019).

Vitamin C (as PureWay-C®)
Vitamin C is a well-recognized antioxidant that supports both liver health and immune function. In a study of over 3,000 Chinese adults, higher dietary vitamin C intake was linked to better liver function, as measured by albumin levels, and improved glucose metabolism (Luo et al., 2021).

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC)
NAC is a precursor to glutathione, the body’s “master antioxidant.” Clinical research has shown that NAC supplementation can improve oxidative balance in the body and help maintain liver health by supporting detoxification (Casas-Grajales & Muriel, 2015).

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, hormone regulation, and nervous system function. According to the European Food Safety Authority, it also plays a role in ending hormone activity at the right time, helping maintain healthy hormonal activity (EFSA, 2010; Bender, 1999).

Selenium
Selenium supports antioxidant defenses and liver health. An analysis of data from the U.S. NHANES survey found that higher blood selenium levels were associated with a lower risk of advanced liver fibrosis in adults (Reja et al., 2020).

Globe Artichoke Leaf Extract
Recognized by Health Canada for its role in increasing bile flow, globe artichoke supports liver health and digestion. Increasing bile flow helps support digestion and the body’s natural waste elimination processes (Health Canada, 2018).

3,3’-Diindolylmethane (DIM)
DIM, naturally found in cruciferous vegetables, supports healthy estrogen metabolism by aiding in the breakdown of estrogen into forms that are more easily processed by the body. Research suggests it may support a healthier balance of estrogen metabolites (Anushiravani et al., 2019).
